How to send games to friends using Meta Quest 2
On your Quest 2, did you realise that you could share games and applications?
Family members can play the same games without paying them twice, thanks to Meta's ability to share games across two Meta Quest 2 headsets.
This isn't always the case because game and app developers must agree to the sharing features before users can access them. However, you can usually use this approach to easily start sharing games.
You must be the main account on the headset to share games on Quest 2. To give access to the games, a sub-account must be made there. This is OK if you have a brand-new headset that you wish to use to share games. However, a factory reset will be required if the headset already has an account and games loaded, which could lead to issues.
How can I activate sharing in Quest 2?
Making a second account on the Quest 2 you want to share games with is the first step in the sharing process.
This isn't always the case because game and app developers must agree to the sharing features before users can access them.
How to set up a secondary account on Meta Quest 2
Access the Quest 2 you wish to share with them and sign into your Meta account first. Then, to provide access, you must add a sub-account.
- Switch on your headset.
- To reach the menu, press the menu button on the right-hand controller.
- Select Settings from the quick settings menu.
- Select the Account Settings
- Click to add an account
- Permit the additional user to access their account and add the headset.
In Quest 2's settings, enable app sharing.
You can enable sharing after the sub-account has been added to the relevant Quest 2 by doing the following actions:
- To reach the menu, press the menu button on the right-hand controller.
- Select Settings from the quick menu.
- Open accounts
- Next, locate and click the button to enable app sharing.
The secondary account will then access all of your games and apps. However, the sub-account will be tied to the game progress and saves. You can play your own game without being interrupted. It's worth noting that the sub-account can purchase apps, but they won't be shared with the main admin account or other additional accounts on the headset.
You may still sign in to several devices simultaneously. However, you won't be able to use the same programme simultaneously on various devices using the same account. Remember that when you can only enable App Sharing on a single device, different accounts can concurrently access a shared app on various headsets.
