Meta Oculus Quest 2 - Forgotten Unlock Pattern & Factory Restore

How to factory restore your Quest 2 headset

You may conduct a factory reset if you have difficulties with your headset or if you want to delete all of your data from it. This removes all data from your Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest and restores it to the software condition it was in when you first unboxed it. All your Saved data will be lost. We do not recommend you do this unless it’s a very last resort. E.G. You have lost your unlock pattern.

To conduct a factory reset on your phone, follow these steps:

  1. On your phone, open the Oculus app.
  2. In the bottom menu, select Devices.
  3. The headset that is attached to your phone should be tapped.
  4. Select Advanced Options.
  5. Reset after tapping Factory Reset.

To use the Meta Quest 2 headset to conduct a factory reset, follow these steps:

  1. Turn Off your Oculus Quest
  2. Hold down the power and volume (-) buttons on your headset at the same time until the boot screen appears.
  3. Select Factory Reset with the volume controls on your headset and click the power button.
  4. Select Yes using the volume controls on your headset and then hit the power button.

Notes:

A factory reset removes all account information, downloaded games, saved games, and content on the headset and is irreversible. The stuff you've purchased or downloaded from your account will not be deleted if you perform a factory reset as this is still on your synced phone. Perform this at your own risk !
