How delivery works, wherever you are
We send early. Most customers get their VR gear before their hire period starts, and you are only charged for the hire days you booked — not the courier time.
- Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington — generally 1 to 2 working days
- Waikato — often next working day
- Rural addresses — allow an extra day
- South Island — allow the full 2 working days
Couriers do not deliver on weekends. If your party is on a Saturday or Sunday, choose Friday as your start date. Freight includes the return leg, so there is nothing more to pay when you send it back.
Auckland
Auckland is our busiest region. We deliver across Central Auckland, the North Shore, West, East and South Auckland.
If you want something genuinely different for an Auckland birthday, the Meta Quest 3s is worth a look. Unlike older headsets that block out your view entirely, the 3s uses high-resolution passthrough cameras, so players can see their actual surroundings while they play. Virtual objects appear on your real floor, table and walls.
In practice that means guests can battle robots in your living room, explore worlds that blend with your real furniture, or make things in 3D space — while still seeing each other. It is safer in a crowded room, and it is far more social, because nobody is cut off from the party.
Hamilton and the wider Waikato
We deliver right across the Waikato, often next working day: Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Morrinsville, Matamata, Huntly, Ngaruawahia, Tokoroa, Putaruru, Raglan, Thames and Waihi.
Within Hamilton that includes Hamilton Central, Rototuna, Chartwell, Flagstaff, Hillcrest, Dinsdale, Te Rapa, Frankton, Claudelands, Melville, Glenview, St Andrews, Nawton and the surrounding suburbs.
Waikato is a good region for VR hire precisely because it is spread out. Rather than driving a carload of kids to an activity venue in Hamilton, the entertainment comes to you — which matters if you are in a smaller town or on a rural address.
Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty
We courier to Tauranga Central, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Bethlehem, Otumoetai, Greerton, Pyes Pa, Welcome Bay, The Lakes, Maungatapu, Matua, Bayfair, Te Puke, Katikati and the wider Bay of Plenty.
The standalone Meta Quest headsets suit this region well because so many bookings are at holiday accommodation — a bach at the Mount, a family staying in Papamoa for a weekend birthday. There is no gaming PC to set up and no sensors to mount, so it works anywhere with a safe indoor space.
Rotorua
We deliver to Rotorua and the surrounding district on the same Bay of Plenty courier timings. Like Taupō, it is a region where plenty is happening outdoors — which makes VR a useful backup when the weather turns, or an easy option for a birthday at home.
Taupō and the lake
Taupō town centre, Nukuhau, Richmond Heights, Hilltop, Waipahihi, Acacia Bay, Two Mile Bay, Wharewaka, Kinloch, Turangi and the Lake Taupō holiday areas.
Taupō is full of outdoor adventures, but the weather does not always cooperate. VR sets up in a lounge, garage, hall, holiday home or event space, which makes it a reliable indoor option for a birthday weekend or a school holiday stay by the lake.
Wellington, the South Island and everywhere else
We courier nationwide, including Wellington, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, New Plymouth, Whanganui, Gisborne, Whangarei, Christchurch, Dunedin, Nelson, Queenstown and Invercargill.
South Island freight costs a little more because of the ferry leg, and the rate is shown at checkout. As with everywhere else, it includes the return courier.
What you need, wherever you are
The requirements are the same in every region:
- A safe indoor play space — about 2m x 2m per player
- Furniture, glassware, pets and anything breakable moved out of the way
- WiFi, which is recommended for online features, updates, multiplayer and casting to a TV
- An adult supervising, managing turns and helping with the headsets
A lounge, garage, rumpus room, spare room, community hall or holiday home all work fine. You do not need a huge space — you need a clear one.
How many headsets for a party?
Roughly: one headset suits 2 to 4 kids, two headsets suit 4 to 6, and three headsets suit 6 to 10. Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver VR hire to my town?
If a courier goes there, we do. We send VR hire gear anywhere in New Zealand, including rural addresses — allow one extra working day for rural delivery.
How far ahead should I book?
For weekend birthdays, school holidays and the November to February period, earlier is much better. Booking ahead leaves time for delivery, setup checks and any questions before the day.
Can VR work in a garage, rumpus room or shed?
Yes, as long as the area is clean, dry, safe and clear of hazards. Avoid tight spaces, tools, vehicles, sharp objects, pets, cables and glass.
Can VR work for a bach or holiday accommodation birthday?
Yes, provided there is a safe indoor area, room to move, and someone responsible supervising. This is a common booking around Taupō, the Mount and Papamoa.
Is South Island delivery more expensive?
Yes, a little, because of the ferry crossing. The exact rate shows at checkout and includes the return freight.
